8 seaside resorts to visit in Landes

This year you’ve decided to go to the Landes for your summer vacations. What could be more pleasant than long sandy beaches, typical regional dishes and plenty of activities for families, couples or friends? You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to putting down your towel, as the Landes offers 106 kilometers of coastline.

Biscarrosse

Camping Au Lac de Biscarrosse is located near Biscarrosse, the third largest town in the Landes and also one of the biggest water sports resorts on the coast. It’s also the ideal place to enjoy a leisurely stroll or horseback ride before settling down at a table in one of the town’s restaurants.

Hossegor

The world-famous French surf spot. If you’re looking to get started, now’s the time, as you’ll find plenty of surf schools in the area.

Seignosse

A little further north, you’ll find the vast beaches of Seignosse. They offer natural landscapes in a rather calm atmosphere. And if you like sport, this is also a popular spot for surfers.

Capbreton

Capbreton is theonly port in the Landes region. Discover its fish market, its pier and its beautiful pedestrian streets filled with shops and restaurants. Its festive beaches are also well worth a visit.

Mimizan

This is a resort not to be missed during your stay, as it promises to make your stay a pleasant one. Between natural beaches and entertainment in the town center, you’ll love stopping off here.

Vieux-Boucau

An interesting resort with a lively village, pedestrianized shopping streets and several beaches where you can spend the afternoon.

Messanges

Here you’ll find two very distinct beaches: one close to campsites in the shade of pine trees, while the other, further north, has only a few stores to liven it up.

Moliet-et-Maâ

The ideal resort if you’re looking for wide open spaces, with forests, dunes, a wide beach and the mouth of the Huchet current. A resort to put on your list.

Other resorts worth visiting include Labenne, Vielles-Saint-Girons, Lit-et-Mixe, Contis, Tarnos, Soustons and Ondres. The latter is smaller and very natural, with only a few buildings such as cafés and restaurants where you can admire the magnificent landscape.
