Visit Parentis en Born

Parentis en Born is a typical little town in the Landes region, between forest, beach and ocean, which is home to your 5-star Au Lac de Biscarrosse campsite. The gentle pace of life is mingled with an astonishing past. The local farmers’ market, held two mornings a week, is a great place to take a stroll.

  • In the footsteps of the greatest aviators
  • Magnificent bullring and ferias popular with aficionados
  • A must-see fishing spot

Here, everything will remind you of Saint-Exupéry or Mermoz, who stayed in Parentis-en-Born during the seaplane era, whose only museum is just a few kilometers away. These pioneers stayed at the Hôtel du Lac et des Pins, just a stone’s throw from the Lac de Biscarrosse and Parentis.

But what also makes the reputation of this typical Landes town is without doubt the way it has cultivated bullfighting festivals over the years. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the greatest bullfighters have practiced their art in Parentis, and it was in 1929 that the bullring was built, the scene of ferias much appreciated by all aficionados. Throughout the summer, the town also organizes ferias, with concerts, bandas, bullfights, cavalcades and Landes races. Ask our team for more information, but don’t forget to pack a red and white outfit to join the aficionados…

Fishing enthusiasts, welcome to the kingdom of freshwater fish! On the lake and small pond at Biscarrosse, departing from Parentis en Born, there’s no risk of returning empty-handed. Carp, eel, pike, pike-perch and perch are all there for the taking.
