Visit the Dune of Pilat
The world famous Dune du Pilat has no equal. It is the highest in Europe. From the top, 103 meters up, it dominates the entrance to the Bay of Arcachon. This natural treasure is now protected, but you can climb to the top without much difficulty.

A 360° view, between forest and ocean
One side gently slopes towards the ocean, the other side has a steep slope, which you will have to climb. No matter, take your time and climb one step at a time. The reward is at the top. After crossing the forest, you are at the foot of a unique experience. This natural monument, classified as a Grand Site de France, overlooks Arcachon Bay. You will never forget the breathtaking view at the top! In the distance, the deep blue ocean, the Bank of Arguin, a natural reserve for birds sculpted by the meandering currents, Arcachon Bay. And behind you, the Landes forest as far as the eye can see.

Visit Arcachon and Gujan Mestras
Near the Dune, you can explore Archachon, the fishermen’s quarter, the Thiers jetty, Pereire beach and the picturesque houses in this fishing port with its special ambiance. And if you feel like a nice walk, take the 7-kilometer coastal trail in Gujan Mestras that takes you through 8 small fishing ports nestled in a corner of Arcachon Bay.
