Top 3 surf spots in the Landes

The commune of Biscarosse alone boasts 5 beaches where you can surf as a beginner or an expert.

Mimizan Plage on the Aquitaine coast stretches over 10 km. There are 3 supervised spots to suit beginners and experienced surfers alike. There are:

Surfing sessions are best done in the morning. It’s at this time of day that the ocean offers the best tubular waves.

3. Surf spots from Contis to Vieille Saint-Girons

Further south from your campsite at Lac de Biscarosse, you will come to the seaside resorts of :

  • Contis ;
  • Cap de l’Homy;
  • Saint-Girons Plage.

These spots are particularly appealing to nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet in a still untamed environment. They are certainly less popular than Seignosse or Capbreton, but certainly more authentic.

You’ll also find popular surf spots further south on the Atlantic coast. Hossegor, for example, is world-renowned for its spots for experienced surfers. From your campsite at Lac de Biscarrosse, it will take you around 1 h 30 to reach Hossegor. As you can see, Biscarosse is the ideal place to introduce your family to board sports.
